Takuma hounds are highly adept canines that live in an underground space known as the Abyss. The Abyss has several levels, and takuma hounds can be found on most layers of the Abyss. Their bodies are decorated in feathers and sometimes even quills, depending on the traits the takuma has. The more flashy the takuma, the greater chance there is of it getting a mate. Takuma hounds mate for life. Unlike most canines, takuma hounds are born from an egg- but they are still breastfed by their mother once they've hatched. Large, bat-like ears give them superb hearing. They often use echolocation by making a 'click' sound with their tongue, then listening for it to bounce back. But the most terrifying feature of a takuma hound are the sickle claws. A takuma hound has a total of four sickle claws- one on each limb. For the front legs, the sickle claw replaces the dewclaw. The hind legs are scaled with three toes, the inner most toe holds a sickle claw. All four sickle claws are retractable and make takuma hounds very dangerous.
